Shutdown continues, trains off tracks in Kashmir

SRINAGAR — Shutdown and government imposed restrictions continue in the Valley on the second consecutive day after the killing of Ansar Gazwatul Hind (AGH) chief Zakir Rashid Bhat alias Zakir Musa.

Train services from Banihal to Baramulla and vice versa will also remain suspended today on Saturday as a precautionary measure in view of the prevailing situation in the valley.

A railway official said that the step has been taken as a precautionary measure.

Pertinently, the killing of militant commander Zakir Musa in a gunfight with government forces at Dadsara village in Tral on Friday morning has triggered a spontaneous shutdown and protests across the Valley.
