SRINAGAR — State Investigation Agency (SIA) Kashmir on Monday claimed to have arrested a person in connection with an FIR registered in 2013.

“One person namely Ahmad Ulla Malla, resident of Dalal Mohalla Srinagar was arrested in case FIR No. 42/2013 of Police Station Tarzoo Sopore,” SIA said in a statement to Srinagar-based news agency KDC.

“This case pertains to the killing of 4 policemen in a terrorist ambush at Peer Mohalla Hygam Sopore in April 2013. The case was initially registered in Police Station Tarzoo and initial investigation was conducted by Sopore Police. Earlier this year, the case was transferred to the State Investigation Agency for specialized investigation,” it said.

They said that during the investigation, SIA found the accused Ahmad Ullah Malla involved in harbouring, facilitating, aiding and sheltering militants accused in the case after obtaining incriminating evidence against him.

“SIA collected vital leads and gathered incriminating evidence against all the accused terrorists in the case even after a decade has passed since the commission of crime,” the statement added.
