SRINAGAR — A suspected coronavirus patient, with travel history to Hungary, who fled from the isolation ward of Chest Disease Hospital here on Wednesday afternoon, has been traced as she reported to SKIMS Soura, sources said.

A resident of Batamaloo Srinagar, the 25-year-old woman, according to the doctors, is a ‘strong suspected case’. She was admitted yesterday at CD Hospital.

A senior police officer said that the woman has reported at SKIMS and she has been admitted in the tertiary care hospital now.

The police officer said that there is security deployed at CD Hospital and “it amounts to security lapse”.

When contacted, Dr Naveed Nazir Shah, HOD CD Hospital, said that the woman was not referred to SKIMS and that she has put life of others to danger by her act.

“There is proper procedure and lot of care has to be taken from taking suspected patients from one place to another. As she was not referred, her act has put to risk life of others.”

Last week also, a female patient suspected of COVID19 had escaped from the Chest Diseases Hospital. A returnee from Saudi Arabia, she was later traced and re-admitted. Her test reports came out to be negative, they added.
