
BANDIPORA — Government forces on Thursday morning defused a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted near petrol pump in Nadihal village on Bandipora-Srinagar highway in north Kashmir.
An Army officer said that the suspected IED was spotted by a Road Opening Party of Army’s 14 RR unit around 08:00 AM today.
He said the suspected IED was planted inside an iron container under a bridge on Bandipora-Srinagar highway, adding that road opening party of Army’s 14 RR unit and Explosive Detective Dog (ED Dog) detected the suspicious object.
“The IED was later defused by police’s bomb disposal squad,” he said.
The traffic movement was halted on Bandipora-Srinagar highway for sometime till the IED was defused.
