KULGAM — On Thursday, a 12-year-old girl allegedly hanged herself in Yaripora area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir.
According to reports reaching here, the Yaripora girl (name withheld) hung herself today and passed away as a result.
However, the girl was brought to a local hospital in Yaripora, where medical staff ruled her dead. She was then sent to District Hospital Kulgam to complete the appropriate medical and legal procedures.
An official from Kulgam Police stated that it was currently unclear why the girl took this extreme action. He added, “Police have launched an investigation and registered a formal case in this respect.”
