Teenager drowns at Namblan waterfall amid heatwave

BARAMULLA — An 18-year-old boy, Moin Ahmad Lone, lost his life on Tuesday at the Namblan waterfall in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Moin, son of Ghulam Hassan Lone from Heevan Sheeri Baramulla, drowned while visiting the waterfall to escape the persistent heatwave affecting the Valley.

Kashmir has been experiencing a scorching heatwave, prompting residents, particularly youngsters and children, to seek relief in local water bodies such as waterfalls.

Details of the incident remain unclear, with authorities still investigating the exact circumstances that led to Moin’s death.
