SRINAGAR — Third militant has been killed in an ongoing operation in Kreeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.

Official sources said that after resuming operation this morning, one more militant has been killed.

They said the slain militant is likely to be non-local and was hiding inside a hideout which was blasted using an IED.

Meanwhile, searches are still underway in the area till this report was being filed.

Pertinently, yesterday six persons were killed in the gunfight including two CRPF troopers, one J&K policeman, one Army soldier and two local LeT militants.

Director General of Police, Dilbagh Singh yesterday during a press conference said that top LeT commander Sajad Haider from Sopore was among the two slain militants. As per DGP, he was instrumental in recruiting new militants and was mastermind behind many attacks on security forces and political activists.
