KULGAM — Police have booked three workers from proscribed Jamaat-e-Islami organization under Unlawful Activities Act in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Police sources said that three activists from Jamaat-e-Islami were arrested earlier and today, they were booked on charges of harbouring, aiding militants and hatching conspiracy.
These workers have been identified as Mudasir Hasan Mir, a resident of Sallar; Abdul Hayat Alaie of Audoora Kulgam, living at present in Sallar village and Farooq Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Lever village.
Sources said that a case vide FIR number 35/2021 has been registered against the trio.
They have been booked under Section 10 (Penalty for being a member of an unlawful association, etc.), Section 11 (Penalty for dealing with funds of an unlawful association), Section 13 (Punishment for unlawful activities), Section 18 (Punishment for conspiracy, etc), Section 19 (Punishment for harbouring, etc), Section 20 (Punishment for being member of gang or militant organisation), Section 38 (Offence relating to membership of a militant organisation), Section 39 (Offence relating to support given to a militant organisation), Section 40 (Offence of raising fund for a militant organisation) of ULA (P) Act.
