SRINAGAR — Three militants of Al-Badr outfit were killed and a civilian was injured in an encounter in Tiken area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Reports reaching here said that a joint team of Police, Army’s 55 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Tiken area.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
Inspector General of Police (Kashmir), Vijay Kumar said that all three local militants of Al-Badr have been killed in the encounter.
A civilian was also injured during the exchange of firing, who was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment and is said to be stable.
As per initial reports, the three slain militants have been identified as Umer Ali son of Ali Mohammad Mir, a resident of Dadsara area in Tral who was active since 10-08-2020, Owais Farooq Allie, resident of Noorpora, Tral, active since 08-08-2020 and Mehraj u Din Lone son of Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Arigam Pulwama who was active since July 01, 2020.
Meanwhile, mobile Internet services were snapped in the whole southern Kashmir.
Pertinently, 201 militants have been killed so far this year in Kashmir region.
