Three militants killed, searches continue in Qazigund

SRINAGAR — Three militants were killed in an encounter which broke between government forces and militants in Lower Munda area of Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday morning.

Official sources said that three militants were killed in the gunfight. However, identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.

Till this report was being filed, searches in the area were going on.

Earlier, reports reaching here said that a joint team of Police and Army’s 19 RR launched a cordon and search operation in Lower Munda.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.
