
ANANTNAG — A tourist was critically injured after a heavy stone suddenly rolled down a hillside and struck a vehicle carrying six passengers near Bumzoo Shrine on the KP Road in Mattan area of Anantnag district on Wednesday.
The Innova, bearing registration number JK01AT-8081, was travelling from Pahalgam to Anantnag when the stone hit the vehicle.
One of the tourists, identified as 55-year-old R. Himansu Prasad Rao from Ganjam district of Odisha, sustained serious injuries in the incident.
He was immediately evacuated to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for treatment.
The condition of the tourist is stated to be critical.
