KULGAM — A 63-year-old man died after being crushed to death by a train on Friday morning in Nessu Badragund area of Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Locals said that the deceased was identified as Ghulam Nabi Chopan, son of Abdul Aziz, a retired government employee of Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Department from Vessu Qazigund.
They added that he was crushed by a train at around 11:00 AM, resulting in his on spot death.
When this report was filed, the deceased was shifted to Public Health Centre Qazigund for post-mortem.
A senior police said that police has taken cognisance of the incident to ascertain whether it is case of suicide.
