SRINAGAR — Two people were killed and one injured in separate road accidents in southern Kashmir’s Anantnag and Pulwama districts on Thursday.

In Anantnag, Ajaz Ahmad Shah, a 36-year-old teacher from Brah Ranipora Achabal, lost his life after his scooter went off the road in the Shangus area.

Shah reportedly lost control of his vehicle, resulting in his immediate death at the scene. Police have registered a case, and an investigation is underway.

In a separate incident in Pulwama’s Pampore area, Sahil Maqbool of Laterbal Pampore died, and Sahil Ashraf Guroo from Tulbagh Pampore was injured after their motorcycle was struck by a speeding vehicle in Laterbal Kadlabal.

Guroo has been hospitalized at SDH Pampore for treatment. Meanwhile, local authorities have initiated an inquiry into the accident.
