Body found in Jhelum River in Srinagar

SRINAGAR — Authorities in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district recovered a body from the Jhelum River in the Parimpora area on Friday afternoon.

According to an official quoted by a local news agency, the body, in an advanced state of decomposition, was found by local authorities.

Police have taken custody of the body, and as per the initial reports, the body was of a man identified as Farooq Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Qadir Wani, a resident of Karfali Mohalla Shalla Kadal Srinagar who was missing since November 23, 2023.
