SRINAGAR — An unidentified militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter at Nawa Kadal area of Downtown Srinagar while as the operation is going on, police said.

Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Zone), Vijay Kumar said that one militant has been killed and the operation is on.

Police sources revealed that there is a possibility of presence of one more militant. “This is a deliberate operation and we are going slow to ensure there is no collateral damage. The area is congested and we are taking full time to ensure no damage to life and property of civilians,” a police official, overseeing the operation said.
