Srinagar: President Electrical Employees Union, J&K, Power Development Department Mir Abdul Salam Rajpori passed away after suffering a massive cardiac arrest here on Monday.
A resident of Bellow village in Pulwama, Rajpori was chairing a meeting of union members at their office at Basant Bagh when the cardiac arrest hit him.
Rajpori, who was also senior vice-president of the Employees Joint Action Committee, was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, said a union member.
“Rajpori’s Nimaz-e-Jinazah will be held at Bellow today i.e., January 15,” he said.
Senior trade union leader and vice-president of EJAC, Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam has condoled Salam Rajpori’s sudden death.
He termed his death as a big loss for the employees of the state. “It’s a personal loss to me,” he said.
Shabnam expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. (GKNN)
