Unknown gunmen shot dead two youth in Anantnag

BIJBEHARA — Some unknown gunmen fired upon two youth in Jablipora Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on late Saturday evening.

Sources said that two youth identified as Sanjeet Ahmed Parray (19) son of Abdul Azeem Parrey and Shahnawaz Ahmed Bhat son of Qadir Bhat, both residents of Jablipora, were standing outside a Kiryana Shop, when unknown gunmen emerged there and fired indiscriminately upon them.

They were shifted to Bijbehara hospital where doctors declared Sanjeet Parray brought dead. Another youth Shahnawaz was referred to GMC Anantnag where he succumbed to his injuries.

A doctor confirmed the death of the duo, saying both had sustained multiple bullet injuries.

One of the slain Sanjeet Parray is a Dental Technician while Shahnawaz Bhat was an auto driver by profession.

Joint Forces cordoned off the area after the incident. The cordon and search operation was underway till the filing of this report.
