SHOPIAN — A pregnant lady from Zarkan Shalidar village of Keller area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district today delivered a baby on cot after they didn’t get vehicle to reach hospital due to heavy snowfall in the area.
According the family, they travelled 10 kilometers to reach SDH Keller and on way to the hospital, she delivered a baby.
The lady has been identified as Akther Jan wife of Papa Poswal, resident of Zarkan Shalidar.
They said that the roads in the area were not cleared after heavy snowfall from last three days.
Meanwhile, Showket Kalas, social activist, from the area urged authorities to clear the all roads in the area so that people will not face any problems.
When contacted, BMO Zarar Bhat confirmed it and said that both mother and baby is undergoing treatment at SDH and said that both are safe.
