Two fresh COVID-19 deaths reported in J&K

SRINAGAR — Jammu Kashmir witnessed two fresh deaths due to COVID-19 infection on Saturday. Both were elderly persons, one hailing from Kashmir while another from Jammu.

Medical Superintendent, Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar, Dr Salim Tak said that an elderly person above 70 years from south Kashmir’s Shopian district was admitted in the hospital and this morning, he breathed his last. He said the deceased was a COVID-19 patient, besides suffering from various ailments like asthma and high blood pressure.

Transporters from other districts asked not to enter Srinagar

Another elderly person above 60 years died in Medical College this morning in Jammu.

Medical Superintendent, Government Medical College Jammu, Dr Dara Singh said that a female patient from Miran Sahab was suffering from different ailments besides having ‘pleural effusion’, sometimes referred to as “water in the lungs,” which means the build-up of excess fluid between the layers of the pleura outside the lungs.

With these two fresh deaths, the tally has reached to 38 among which 33 deaths took place in Kashmir Valley alone.
