Srinagar: After Mirwaiz, Pakistan on Saturday extended its invitation to the chairman of other faction of Huriyat Conference Syed Ali Shah Geelani urging him to travel to Islamabad for holding talks with foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar and others.
Sources said that Pak high commissioner to New Delhi Shahid Malik along with his staff went to Geelani’s temporary residence at Malvia Nagar New Dehli and handed over the invitation letter to him on behalf of Pak foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar.
Huriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar confirmed that Pak diplomat visited Geelani’s Malvianagar temporary residence around 4 PM on Saturday and extended the invitation.’’ He told the high commissioner that he will hold discussions with his colleagues and then will let Government of Pakistan know about the decision.’’ Spokesman quoted Geelani as having told to Pak diplomat.
Earlier Pak high Commissioner invited Mirwaiz who had instantly accepted the invitation.
