After Omar, Mehbooba too says govt had prior info about attacks on minorities

SRINAGAR — PDP President Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday said that the government ignored the inputs about the attacks on minorities and instead provided security to Union Ministers who visited the valley to amplify BJP’s ‘fake narrative and normalcy’ propaganda.

Mehbooba Mufti in a tweet said: “J&K admin had prior information about attacks on minorities. Yet they chose to ignore these inputs. Instead, they were busy providing security to Union Ministers who were brought to Kashmir to amplify BJP’s fake narrative & propaganda of so called normalcy in J&K.”

Mehbooba, who is on a five-day tour of the Chenab Valley region, in another tweet said: “Not taking responsibility & arresting 700 civilians shows their intention to shift blame & absolve themselves. Collective punishment & humiliation of an entire population has become the one-size-fits-all approach to resolve problems caused due to GOI’s punitive policies.”

Earlier, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah had also claimed that the administration had prior information about the attacks on minorities but it did nothing to stop these attacks.
