SRINAGAR — The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Sunday termed the new political formation ‘Apni Party’ as an offshoot of the Saffron Party, describing it as a creation of various quarters, which have always been hell-bent upon creating chaos and divisions in the political system of J&K.

The party also said the motive behind the new formation would be visible on the ground, very soon, saying that people are ready to give a befitting reply against this new formation.

Commenting on the new formation in J&K, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G. A. Mir said that people have already witnessed the offshoot of the Saffron Party in the political system of J&K surface since 2014 and fully realize what was going on behind the curtains.

Mir said that earlier also, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have witnessed how the self-rule and dual currency fake agenda came into existence, on whose directions the formation happened, now some people have again come up with a new formation, but the agenda and motive behind this formation would be clear to people, very soon.

Mir said the political class of J&K is well aware as to how different quarters and government machinery have been used to impress various mainstream political leaders to join the new formation, as a result, some have succumbed to pressure and were made to join it, but such pressure tactics won’t make any difference on the ground, rather it has exposed the motive behind.

“One must understand that it is ultimately the people’s power that will decide things in a democratic manner while showing the mirror to power-hungry people,” G.A. Mir said.

The off-shoot of BJP (new formation) will no longer befool the people, for the fact, the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh are very mature and know how to deal with such formations, Mir added.

Referring to the Congress Party, Mir said that Congress is a sea and no one can measure its depth, the previous self-rule or new formation doesn’t matter for the Party, as Congress Party knows how to fight against political exploitations both in the country and J&K.

JKPCC president urged the people of J&K to rise to the occasion and further expose the new and old formations, as that will only bring stability to J&K.

G. A. Mir appealed to the rank and file of the Party to feel strong under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi. “Secular India was, is and will remain behind them, especially the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh,” the statement said.
