PULWAMA — Mohammad Lateef Bhat, the District President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Pulwama, reaffirmed the existence of a solitary party office in the district amid recent political tensions, particularly surrounding the activities of new party member Arshad Bhat.

Bhat clarified that the BJP maintains only one registered office in Pulwama, situated near the DC Office Pulwama, known to all party members, the public, and media outlets. He emphasized that the list of party members and key officials is available with the Pulwama Police and the CID Wing.

Despite Arshad Bhat’s absence from a recent party event, efforts were made to include him, according to Bhat. Expressing disappointment over Arshad Bhat’s lack of engagement with the party office since joining, Bhat highlighted the expectation for all members to actively participate in party activities.

The assertions by Bhat follow the launch of the “Gaon Chalo Abhiyan” campaign aimed at engaging with Pulwama residents. The campaign, commencing on February 7, 2024, seeks to connect with villagers and promote government schemes initiated under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, including the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and the Sukanya Yojana.

Bhat expressed confidence in the BJP’s potential to secure a third consecutive term in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
