SRINAGAR — Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and senior Congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad on Saturday met the recently released incumbent Parliamentarian, Dr. Farooq Abdullah at his Gupkar residence.
Sources said that the meeting between the two leaders is underway.
Azad arrived in Kashmir today and reached the residence of Abdullah, who was released yesterday after seven-month-long detention. His detention was revoked by the government on Friday.
Azad, who is a former Chief Minister of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State, is currently at Abdullah’s Gupkar residence.
Pertinently, Abdullah met his incarcerated son, Omar Abdullah in sub-jail here, who is also undergoing detention after being booked under Public Safety Act (PSA).
