SRINAGAR — The Jammu and Kashmir Congress has officially chosen Irfan Hafiz as its candidate for northern Kashmir’s Wagoora-Kreeri constituency.
A senior Congress leader confirmed the decision, according to the news agency KNS.
He also said that Suhail Bukhari will be assigned a key role within the party. While specifics were not disclosed, the leader said that Bukhari’s position would be strategically significant.
On being asked about internal conflicts within the Congress, he said that differences of opinion exist but such challenges are common in all political parties.
Such issues are not unique to Congress and are being addressed within the party, he added.
