BANDIPORA — Days after resigning from the People’s Democratic Party, former MLA from border Tehsil of Gurez today joined the Bhartiya Janta Party in Jammu in presence of party president for J&K Union Territory, Ravinder Raina.

Faqeer Mohammad Khan, who was the zonal president of PDP from north Kashmir’s Gurez area, had resigned from the party a few days back.

Khan said that he joined the BJP in Jammu today in presence of party president for J&K Union territory, Ravinder Raina and other senior leaders.

“After consultations with my workers in Bandipora, Kangan and other parts of the Kashmir valley, I decided to join the BJP for the wellbeing of the people of Gurez and Kashmir as well,” he said.

He said that after resigning from the PDP, he held consultations with his workers with who suggested him to join the BJP.

Meanwhile, sources said that Faqeer Khan was also in touch with the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party president Muhammad Altaf Bukhari.

They said that he had also attended the dinner hosted by Altaf Bukhari at his residence day before announcing the launching of his J&K Apni Party.
