Srinagar: Syed Ali Shah Geelani, chairman of his faction of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, has called for a shut-down on 17 July to mourn the death of six civilians in a road accident at Umar Abad.
A pick-up truck belonging to Army’s 51 RR regiment rammed into a passenger car at Umar Abad in Zainakote, shortly before noon on Wednesday, killing six people and injuring two more.
He has appealed people to observe a complete shut-down followed by peaceful protest demonstration on the next day, July 18, to protest the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
Around 200 Palestinians, including women and children, have died so far in the Israeli action.
