SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Monday urged the BJP to prioritize the needs and rights of the Jammu people instead of humiliating them.
He asked the BJP to talk about employment and land and job rights issues, citing concerns over outsiders purchasing land in Jammu, leading to shrinking land ownership for locals.
While talking to reporters in Jammu, Chowdhary emphasized the importance of addressing employment and rights issues, citing concerns over outsiders purchasing land in Jammu, leading to shrinking land ownership for locals.
Choudhary, as per the news agency KNT, specifically mentioned that dozens of outsiders have secured jobs in Jammu and Kashmir Government departments, highlighting the need for transparency and accountability.
He called upon the media to expose and highlight these departments, ensuring that the rights of Jammu residents are protected.
The Deputy Chief Minister pointed out that a recently retired IPS officer, who claims to be honest, has purchased land at two tourist places at cheap rates.
“In every home, there are unemployed youths. We are losing land ownership. Outsiders have been given jobs in government departments. Where will the local population go?” he asked and added that jobs should be exclusively for the local people as they can’t compete with outsiders in outside states like Delhi.
