SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is likely to resign from the post and is likely to contest Lok Sabha polls on BJP ticket from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur constituency, sources said on Monday.
Sources in the know of this major development told the news agency KNS that Manoj Sinha is likely to step down as Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to contest Lok Sabha polls.
They said that former Army General and senior BJP leader VK Singh and former CEO of NITI Aayog and India’s G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant are the frontrunners for the post of J&K Lieutenant Governor.
Sources said that serious deliberations have been going on within the top brass of the BJP to field Sinha from the Ghazipur constituency.
