SRINAGAR — Apparently unconcerned by gunfights in Jammu and Kashmir, JKNC President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said that encounters keep taking place and there is no fear in it.

As per the news agency CNS, the remark was made by the JKNC President in response to a reporter’s question pertaining to the Jammu encounter in which three militants were gunned down by security forces.

The comment was made by Dr Farooq Abdullah in the wake of attacks on the army in northern Kashmir and on the army convoy by militants in Jammu, with a subsequent encounter in the latter incident.

Recently, Kashmir has seen a few civilian killing incidents in which mostly migrant labourers were targeted.

In contrast, the JKNC President days ago had asserted that war is inevitable one day if militancy continues in the Valley.
