NC candidate bags DDC Chairperson post in Rajouri

RAJOURI — The National Conference (NC) candidate in Rajouri was on Friday elected as District Development Council (DDC) chairman while Congress candidate bagged vice-chairman post.

Advocate Naseem Liaqat, who was PAGD candidate for chairman post, won after getting eight out of 14 votes while Shabir Khan of Congress won as vice-chairman.

Earlier, the maiden meeting of DDC members to elect chairman and vice-chairman was held on February 13 but was later adjourned and scheduled for today.
