NC’s district president booked for thrashing cop in Pulwama

PULWAMA — Police on Monday booked and arrested National Conference District President for Pulwama after he allegedly thrashed a police constable at party headquarters.

Sources said that Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir, National Conference’s District President for southern Kashmir’s Pulwama, thrashed Head Constable Abdul Gani, (67/Pl) at NC office Pulwama.

The Head Constable is deputed as guard commander at NC office, and he had reportedly not allowed media personnel to enter into NC office, which infuriated NC district president and he thrashed the cop.

Sources added that the cop accordingly informed the police station that brought Mir to the Station for legal action.

“There was scuffle and Mir manhandled the cop after he didn’t allow media personnel to enter into NC district office located at Mujahid Manzil Pulwama,” said an eyewitness.

A police official confirmed that NC district president Mir has been arrested and a formal case vide FIR number 3/2020 under Section 323, 353 has been registered against him.
