Srinagar: With Parliament by-elections to Srinagar and Anantnag constituencies round the corner, Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) led by MLA Khansahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin has decided to stay away from the poll process.

Sources told KNS that the PDF has decided to stay away from the polls and will neither support ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP)-BJP nor opposition National Conference-Congress combine.

“The PDF leaders who met at the residence of Hakim Yasin after threadbare discussions came to the conclusion to stay away from the polls as it was not the appropriate time for polls after recent unrest,” sources privy to the meeting said.

They said the PDF chief urged the workers to stay away from the poll process and leave it to the conscience of people whom to vote and whom not.

It may be mentioned here that in 2014 Parliament elections PDF had also taken the same decision and didn’t support any party then.

However, in 2009 Parliament polls, the PDF had supported then NC-Congress alliance. (KNS)
