SRINAGAR — Stating that the return of Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru’s body was the ultimate demand of his amalgam, chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Monday announced a new protest calendar.
In a press release issued here, Geelani was quoted as saying that there would be no strike on Tuesday, but people must hold “peaceful protest in the evening.”
He said, “On Wednesday and Thursday, Kashmiri people must observe a strike and hold protest demonstrations.”
On Friday, the octogenarian leader said there will be no strike till 1 PM. “But after congregational prayers, a shutdown must be observed,” he said.
