KU's Pharmaceutical Sciences Department organizes workshop on HPTLC

SRINAGAR — The Pharmaceutical Sciences Department of Kashmir University in collaboration with Anchrom India on Tuesday organized a one-day technical workshop with a live demo on “HPTLC: Technique & Applications” as a part of Pharmacy-UoK Workshop Series 2022.

The Anchrom is the official distributor of CAMAG, Switzerland, and manages CAMAG’s India-specific HPTLC Application Research Laboratory for the support of researchers across the country.

The postgraduate and doctoral students and teaching faculty of various Science departments (Pharmacy, Engineering, Medical Sciences, Pure and Applied Science) of this university, and other institutes of the country and abroad had registered for this workshop to get familiarized with the latest on this important analytical technique used in scientific research and development.

The Anchrom team for the workshop comprised of co-host Ms Ankita, Mr Mohit Upadhyay (resource person for the workshop), and Ms Sneha Singh who gave the hands-on demonstration on the CAMAG HPTLC instrument.

The Registrar Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir, during his remarks as a chief guest, highlighted the need and importance of such scientific and technical workshops for the researcher community of this university and other sister universities of the region.

On behalf of the university, he expressed gratitude to Anchrom for collaborating with the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the interest of the students, scholars, and teaching faculty of the University.

Prof. Mubashir Hussain Masoodi, HoD, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and co-organizer of the workshop during the opening remarks presented a brief technical note on the benefits and vast application domain HPTLC in research and development.

He also briefly outlined the academic and research profile of the department and informed about the technical and R&D collaborations with various national and international industries and research institutes.

Prof. Mubashir appreciated the collaboration from Anchrom and thanked all the participants of the workshop.
