Southern Brave — Team Coaches
This season, former legendary New Zealand cricketer, Stephen Fleming, will be the Southern Brave coach of the men’s team.
He has since coached Melbourne Stars and Rising Pune Supergiant, along with being appointed as the head coach of Joburg Super Kings in the new SA20 league. In 2010, Fleming won the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Chennai Super Kings, along with the Champions League T20 in the same year, before winning the IPL again in 2018 and 2021.
Charlotte Marie Edwards, former captain of the England Women’s team, will be the head of the Southern Brave coaching staff for the Women’s side.
In 2016, Edwards was named captain of Southern Vipers in the inaugural Women’s Cricket Super League. The Vipers went on to win the competition, with Edwards batting four times in five appearances. She captained the side again in 2017, her final season playing in the competition, with the Vipers once again reaching the final but this time losing to Western Storm.
