
SRINAGAR — In view of the restoration of roads in Srinagar city after recent floods, the Traffic Police Department has formulated a route plan for certain routes.
As per the fresh route plan, there will be one-way traffic movement from Rambagh towards Jahangir Chowk, and no opposite traffic will be allowed in the flyover corridor from Sharegarhi up to Rambagh bridge.
Accordingly, the traffic movement from the city centre to south city will be allowed via Jawahar Nagar, while light vehicles will be allowed to ply via Town Square Mall crossing towards Ramzana Hospital onwards towards Bund up to Rambagh, an official statement mentioned.
Similarly, all the commercial vehicles have to take the L.D route to Jawahar Nagar, Jawahar Nagar to Bund up to Rambagh Bridge, the statement added.
Since the traffic pressure during peak morning hours is very high, people who have to attend an emergency can take the Bye Pass-Tangpora-Batmaloo route, it read.
Passenger vehicles, which have not got permission from SSP Traffic City Srinagar, will not be allowed to enter the city centre via Rambagh.
