PULWAMA — As a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the district authorities organized a Tiranga rally in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.

In this connection, Jammu and Kashmir Police and civil administration in Pulwama launched the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign to encourage the students to hoist the national flag at their respective homes to mark the 76th year of India’s Independence.

Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Baseer-ul-Haq Choudhary along with Senior Superintendent Pulwama, Ghulam Jeelani Wani participated in the campaign organized at Sports Stadium Pulwama.

On this occasion, the district police chief distributed national flags among the students and officers of the civil administration and encouraged all participants to hoist the Tiranga at their homes also.

“The main aim of organizing the Tiranga programme is to spread the campaign in every nook and corner of the district and to encourage the people living in the remote areas also to hoist the national flag in their homes,” a statement from the district authorities said.

Besides civil and police officers, hundreds of students, from both government and private educational institutions, participated in the rally. The students also sang patriotic songs on the occasion.
