PULWAMA — A three-day cleanliness drive under the Shramdaan Shivir program was on Monday organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Pulwama in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The drive was kick-started by Mr. Bilal Ahmad Rather, President of Municipal Council Pulwama, at Dangerpora area of Pulwama town.

Mr. Bilal in his address stressed upon the youth to develop the spirit of volunteerism and to participate in these programmes for the service of the community which can have a large far-reaching impact on the development and prosperity of the common people.

Youth Club volunteers, National Youth Corps, volunteers from Municipal Committee Pulwama and other community members also participated in the programme.

The drive started from Dangerpora Pulwama where a spring and its surrounding area were cleaned. The local community members appreciated the drive and demanded that these kinds of drives should be done in the future as well.

The aim of the program, according to the organizers, is to create and deliver community assets for the benefit of the common people.
