SRINAGAR — At least six houses were gutted in a midnight blaze in Nawab Bazar area of Kashmir capital Srinagar.

Official sources said that during interviewing night, fire broke out at Nawabazar in a house that spread to other houses.

They said at least six houses were damaged in the fire incident, the cause of which is attributed to short circuit.

Locals and fire fighters put hard efforts in dousing the fire.

The damaged houses belong to Mehrajuddin Khan and Ghulam Rasool sons of Abdul Gafar Khan, Abdul Majeed Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar, Nazir Ahmed and Javiad Dar sons of Ghulam Qadir Dar, Abdul Qayoom Khan son of Muhammad Sadiq Khan, Tawheed Showkat Dar son of Showkat Ahmad Dar and Muneer Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Ahad Dar.
