Geelani lashes out at certain Hurriyat (M) leaders

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani while accusing certain pro-freedom leaders of having brought change in their stand on Saturday cautioned that people should remain vigilant and should not endorse those leaders who according to him were playing in the hands of agencies. “People should first ascertain as to which people have become the instruments in the hands of agencies before endorsing their voice”, the octogenarian separatist leader said, while addressing a seminar at his Hyderpora residence. “How could you say that UN resolutions have become impracticable in the present time when its Secretary General Ban Ki Moon advocates the resolution as per the UN resolution.” Geelani asked, adding that UN resolutions were still valid and effective. According to KNS reporter Geelani, without naming Prof. Ab. Gani Bhat, expressed his anguish and said that the resolutions can not become irreverent and said that some leaders were creating confusion in the masses. He also rejected the Mushraf formula. The seminar was also attended by the Kashmir Bar Association president, Intellectuals, Journalist, Columnists and people belonging to all walks of life. Speakers said that the UN resolution was the way forward for the settlement of Kashmir issue. “If Shimla, Tashqant and Lahore agreements could not dilute the importance of UN resolutions, how could now we treat them irrelevant”, asserted speakers. They said that India was not sincere in resolving the Kashmir issue. Those who addressed the seminar include Z. G. Mohammad, Zaheer u din, Dr. Sheikh Shoukat, Hassan Zaingeeri, Ab. Majeed Zarger, Mian Abdul Qayoom, Dr. Javid Iqbal, and Dr. Sheikh Shoukat. Hurrriyat (G) Spokesperson Ayaz Akbar hosted the seminar. KNS
