Srinagar: The European Union Friday said that Kashmir issue has to be resolved by people living in the region.
“What is happening in this part of the country has to be solved by the people who are living in the region,” Ms Daniele Smadja, Ambassador of the European Union to India, told reporters here.
“We are not here for anything but information,” she said, adding, “We are not coming here with a particular mandate.” Asked whether the EU considers Kashmir as a disputed territory, Smadja said, “There are some issues which you have to settle by yourselves.”
“We come here every year like we travel to other parts of the country because this is our task as an ambassador to reach out to all parts of the country,” she said.
