NEW DELHI — In a significant development, US President Donald Trump has offered to mediate in Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan ‘if mediation is required’.
President Trump said this during his meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan currently underway in White House in Washington DC.
The meeting between the two leaders comes nearly six months after Trump accused Pakistan of lying and being duplicitous. This also happens to be Khan’s first visit to US after being elected to power in August 2018.
India in the past has categorically denied any foreign help in the Kashmir dispute with Pakistan.
