JAMMU — Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary spoke to the media after visiting the home of Mohammad Parvaiz, a young tribal man killed in a recent alleged cross-firing incident, and demanded answers from police officials, calling the tragedy “a black day for Jammu and Kashmir” and seeking a full investigation.

While talking to the media, the Deputy Chief Minister said, “This is not just one death. Two families are shattered today – one lost a son, and another’s daughter became a widow just weeks after marriage. Calling him a martyr will not heal these wounds. Why was Parvaiz killed? Who gave the order, and how did this happen?”

He further questioned the role of police personnel allegedly moving in plain clothes during the incident. “Which new police unit is roaming in civil dress with weapons? Who gave them the permission to shoot? Is this a special branch or a gang? SSP Jammu, who heads this branch, must answer,” he said.

Choudhary said Parvaiz had been running wrestling stables to keep local youth away from drugs, without any government support. “Instead of getting help, he was killed. This is unacceptable. There must be justice, and those responsible must face action,” he said.
