Two militants killed, three Army soldiers injured in Kulgam

SRINAGAR — Two militants were killed while a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) among three soldiers were injured in an encounter in Arrah area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

An official said that one more militant has been killed, taking the toll to two while a JCO among three soldiers were injured. He said all injured soldiers were shifted to 92 Base hospital Srinagar for treatment.

Earlier, a joint team of Army’s 34RR, Police and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Arrah area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam following inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

Meanwhile, authorities suspended mobile internet services in Kulgam district as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order following the gunfight.
