
SRINAGAR — An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Uri Hathlanga area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday, officials said.
They said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF, after receiving information about the presence of militants, launched a search operation in the area.
They said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
They said that the exchange of fire is going on in the area and two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
