PULWAMA — Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department Pulwama on Friday sealed a mutton shop at Wanpora area in Kakapora belt for allegedly selling meat at exorbitant rates.
An official of the department said that they had received a complaint about a mutton shop owner alleged of selling the commodity at exorbitant rates in Wanpora Pulwama.
“A departmental team was as such constituted to visit the spot wherein the shop owner was found selling the mutton at exorbitant rates in contravention to government-fixed rates,” the official said.
“Our team sealed the shop instantly and further action in this regard will follow accordingly,” the official added.
He further added that area-wise teams, constituted by AD FCS&CA Pulwama, conducted inspections in different areas of the district including Pampore, Kakapora, Awantipora, Tahab and Litter to implement mutton and other essential commodities rates fixed by the government and realised a fine of Rs. 25,300.
