Academic arrangement lecturers rue termination of their services

SRINAGAR — Academic arrangement lecturers on Monday staged a protest against termination of their services in Jammu and Kashmir.

Scores of lecturers assembled here in Press Enclave Srinagar and said that after the abrogation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir, the government terminated their services that really shocked them.

They demanded immediate revocation of the controversial Government order.

The protesting lecturers said that they were engaged on academic arrangement but the Government recently issued an order terminating their services, thus depriving them of the due pay.

“We had thought the government will open up new employment opportunities after the annulment of special status but contrary happened in Jammu and Kashmir. The terminating of our services is a grave injustice towards us,” they said.

Shouting slogans and carrying placards in support of their demand for revocation of the controversial Government order, the protesting lecturers vowed to continue their struggle till the Government revokes its order with regard to termination of their services.
