ANANTNAG — The undergraduate (UG) students (5th Semester) of various degree colleges of Kashmir on Monday staged a protest against Kashmir University (KU) authorities over the alleged irregularities in evaluation results declared on last Saturday.

The students alleged that Kashmir University authorities are trying to ruin their career by declaring around 60 percent students fail in several subjects.

They alleged that “the results declared by the authorities are not up to the mark. It seems the marks have not been uploaded properly.”

Waris Ahmad, a student of Boys College Anantnag said that the authorities must re-check their papers and update results properly. The other students also echoed similar views and demanded immediate intervention of the authorities, adding that most of the students have been declared unsuccessful despite performing well in examination held in November-December 2019.

Protesting students alleged that despite appearing in the examination, several students have been marked absent in one or two subjects while as few students among those who didn’t appear in the examination have been marked present besides pass.

They said that results all over the Valley are shocking as according to them, none of the student is satisfied with evaluation status.

They demanded authorities must take cognizance of the issue so that future of hundreds of students could be saved.

Despite repeated attempts, Controller Examination Kashmir University couldn’t be contacted for the comments.
