KU’s Pharmaceutical Sciences Department organizes webinar for Pharma students

SRINAGAR — The Pharmaceutical Sciences Department of Kashmir University today organized One Day National Webinar on “Career Opportunities for Pharma Students” as a part of Pharmacy-UoK Webinar Series 2022.

Dean Academic Affairs Prof. F. A. Masoodi graced the conference as a special guest and underscored the importance of such events which help in shaping the career plans of the students of the varsity during his inaugural address.

He also laid the emphasis on industry-academia collaboration and congratulated the department for having led Kashmir University in this regard for the past decade.

Dr Arshad Hussain Khuroo, Global Head, Bioavailability & Bioequivalence, Sun Pharma (R&D) India was the “Resource Person” for the webinar and delivered a keynote presentation on the subject.

He gave a detailed sketch of how the global pharmaceutical market has experienced significant growth in recent years and how its human resource requirements have revolutionized the past few decades. One of the main components of his talk was preparing the students for taking up the challenges and making responsible decisions as prospective candidates for jobs in the pharmaceutical industry.

The webinar was convened by Prof. Mubashir Hussain Masoodi, Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and during the opening remarks, he highlighted the need of providing this kind of platform where students can expose themselves to the real-time challenges in the Pharmaceutical job market and prepare them in line with industry expectations after the completion of formal education and training in an academic setup.

The webinar was attended by more than 300 delegates from all over the country and abroad as well.
